The Best wedding photography locations in Boston

A Boston wedding is truly something spectacular. Couples choose to get married in Boston because they love the city...and so do we! We’ve captured hundreds of Boston weddings and know how special all the corners of Boston Proper are to our couples.

Along with capturing the important moments of your wedding day, our clients like to get out and have photos taken around the city. We suggest couples choose no more than two locations for photos and plan ahead! You’ll need to consider logistics such as timing and transportation. And find out of there’s a Red Sox game, concert, or festivals happening...these things can slow you down with traffic.

Some spots require advance permission for photo shoots. The professionals at BKB & Co. know what to do in these situations and can guide you through the process! We’ve shared some of our very favorite spots in Boston for wedding day photos below:

Post Office Square

This popular square located in Boston’s Financial District is packed with businesspeople during the work day, but is practically empty on the weekends. It’s a great spot for city views with lots of greenery. The fountain and arbors add a really nice touch.

Boston Public Gardens

This is one of those areas that require advanced permission. If your wedding is being held at one of the fabulous hotels surrounding the park, it’s easy to have formal photos taken in the gorgeous gardens!

Boston Common

The Parkman Bandstand in the middle of Boston Common is a great piece of iconic architecture for your wedding day photos. We love Boston Common because of the city views above the treeline!

Commonwealth Avenue Mall

This strip of parkland runs down the middle of Commonwealth Avenue in Boston’s Back Bay. It’s a great spot to capture this historic Boston neighborhood and the beautiful brownstones that line Comm Ave.

Copley Square

We adore Copley Square because there is so much to look at! Historic churches stand next to glass skyscrapers. It’s a dichotomy that perfectly exemplifies the City of Boston.

The Seaport District

Looking for gorgeous, sweeping views of Boston Harbor? Let’s head to the Seaport District! There is no better spot in Boston to capture the water and the skyline.

Memorial Drive at Royal Sonesta, Cambridge

This spot along Memorial Drive in Cambridge showcases a lovely view of Boston’s Back Bay across the Charles River. We particularly love this spot at sunset.

Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor, East Boston

For a view of Boston Harbor that’s a bit more inclusive and expansive than you can get in the Seaport District, head to East Boston. It’s truly one of our very favorite spots in the whole city!

The Charlestown Navy Yard

Historic ships with a backdrop of the Boston skyline? Yes, please! If you want to head to the Charlestown Navy Yard let’s talk. Located just outside of Boston, this area is beautiful but requires transportation planning.
