Where is BKB located?

BKB was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002. We are by available for appointment only located in Back Bay, Boston.

How do you describe your photography style?

Our style is a mix of photojournalistic, editorial, and traditional capture. We work hard to capture “moments” and the “traditional” lined-up photos of groups. As the event unfolds, we work to capture the details and storyline in a photojournalistic way. Later, we present you with the edited selection to view at your password-protected gallery.

How do you describe your videography style?

This starts with our education in production and media. Our talented team attended prestigious institutions to become a filmmaker.

Our cinema services are captured using top-of-the-line, industry-standard equipment.

Our cinematic style offers a clean, crisp perspective while unobtrusive style. Our films are captured, unlike any other studio, offering our clients the ultimate output for a movie-grade story.

We noticed you work together as a photo and video team, can we hire you separately?

Absolutely, you can hire us separately. However, we encourage you to hire us as a complete team. From crafting your schedule to your final product and service will be cohesive. Our clients enjoy the experience knowing we are one contract familiar with all aspects of the event.

What is the Event Stylist?

Our Event Stylists are essential to our workflow. Our team members will work with you to plan your timeline, logistics, and requests. On the day of the event, the team members work with you closely to ensure smooth capture.

Are you a Gay, LGBTQ-friendly studio?

We believe every story should be documented with love and respect for the couple. BKB was one of the first studios to be published in media featuring a same-sex wedding. We look forward to learning about you and your celebration.

Are you experienced in capturing multicultural events and weddings?

African American, Haitian, Greek, Jewish, Irish, Indian, Korean, Chinese tea ceremonies, orthodox weddings, you name it we’ve captured. Every wedding is unique to each family. We adore events that encompass family traditions.

We’d like to capture our Engagement Sessions, do you offer this service?

Engagement sessions are a great opportunity to capture images of you as a couple pre-wedding. Some favorite locations for engagement sessions are: The Boston Public Gardens, Copley Square, Beacon Hill Acorn Street, Back Bay Boston, The Esplanade, Seaport waterfront area, Boston waterfront, The North End, and the brownstones of the South End, East Boston Pierce Park featuring the Boston skyline.

Are you available to capture our pre and post-wedding coverage?

We encourage our clients to document every aspect of their union. Engagement parties, bridal showers, Jack and Jill parties, welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, or brunch celebrations. Capturing your events prior and post wedding allow a deeper connection and of course more documentation of your family history.

We would like to include our dog at our engagement session/wedding day, what do you recommend?

We adore fur babies! We recommend your engagement shoot or wedding ceremony is a great time to include your pup. Having a trusted friend to help out during your photo time, along with treats is a great way to keep your dog engaged in the action.

Do you capture weddings beyond Boston?

We love to travel! We have captured throughout New England and New York. Destination weddings in Missouri, Florida, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Bahamas, and Aruba.

Do you charge for travel?

We do our best to make it cost-effective for the Client. Areas of Massachusetts Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard require lodging and ferry. Travel beyond Massachusetts requires basic travel fees such as overnight accommodation one day prior to the event, the night of, and ferry/parking. We work consistently in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Newport Rhode Island, and New York City. We have captured weddings in the Caribbean which require accommodations and flight.

What kind of equipment do you shoot with?

Our photography team captures with Canon. The video team exclusively shoots in Sony. Our video equipment is light and accessible, it is the same cameras your favorite Netflix or major film is captured with. In fact, our lead cinematographer has captured some of your favorite shows and movies!

Do you capture in 4k for video?

Yes, we do! Please inquire.

Is a drone available for our capture?

Drone is available for your capture with permissions and protocols in place.

Do you offer RAW footage?

Raw footage is available for purchase.

A basic export on a hard drive for archiving purposes is a popular choice. A color-graded export on a hard drive that can be opened and viewed with professional software. Please inquire about a rate.

How long does it take to view our finished product?

Our goal is always a quick turnaround time for photo editing and highlight movies.

Longer films and album delivery depending on the time of year can be up to four months.

How long are our videos and photos online?

One year. You may view, share, and download during this time. After one year you may renew your online hosting with us for a small fee.

What is your event attire?

Professional attire is a must while capturing events, we wear all with a BKB company logo black dress shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Wearing all black allows us to blend into the background and capture your day as inconspicuous as possible and attire is cohesive.

Do you offer capture beyond weddings?

BKB captures photography and videography for corporate events, gatherings, birthdays, and milestone moments.

Our video division offers small business films. We have worked for Daymond John of Shark Tank, Actress Keisha Nash Whitaker, Harvard University, Marvel Studios, VERTEX, Boston Bruins, Glynn Hospitality Group, Museum of Science Boston, Test Kitchen, Top Chef, City Winery, Glynn Hospitality Group, The Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston, The Knot New York, XO Group, The Knot.com, The Seaport Hotel Boston, Pure Glow Tans, Ciccio Counseling Center.

How far in advance should we reserve your services?

You should plan to book a photographer and videographer 3-12 months before the event date. That being said, in the past, we have been able to accommodate events that fall outside of that timeframe.
