Jenna and Matthew’s wedding weekend was one filled with endless excitement and love. The happy couple got married on September 6th at the stunning and historic Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, Massachusetts. Brittany and her team had the pleasure of shooting both the rehearsal dinner and wedding day for the pair. This was also a special reunion, as BKB captured the sister of the bride’s wedding prior.

The rehearsal dinner took place at Longboards Restaurant & Bar in Salem the night before. This was a fun and special night, even featuring an exciting Tarot Card reading. Jenna also wore a jacket that read “Till Death” on the back which was a lovely personalized touch.

After capturing details such as the invitations, a special moment in the early afternoon was getting to photograph the bride as she got ready with her mother and sister. Throughout that time Jenna expressed gratitude and excitement for the rest of the day to come, especially the first look. Before heading over to the wharf for this, Brittany photographed Jenna as she came down the steps of the hotel, making for incredible shots with her dress and bouquet. Various hotel guests looked on, showering her with kind words and best wishes.

At the wharf, the first look was as sweet as expected, and the photos of the moment did not disappoint. There was love in the air and a calmness when the two saw each other for the first time. That feeling stayed evident throughout the day and night. An incredibly special part of Jenna and Matt’s wedding was the reading and signing of the Ketubah, a traditional Jewish marriage contract, with their Rabbi and closest family. Everyone in the room was nearly brought to tears listening to the beautiful promises that the two had made to each other.

After taking photos with friends and family, the ceremony took place at the park right across the street from the hotel. Jenna and Matt’s vows to each other encompassed the depth of their love. They both shared sweet memories and kind words with one another as their friends and family looked on. While the ceremony was unfortunately cut short by one of the crazier rain storms that any of us had seen, there was no shortage of love, adoration, and excitement for the newlyweds. The couple handled this situation with grace and did not let it dim their spirit.

The reception was a blast, with everyone enjoying themselves in the ballroom of the Hawthorne. The room was decorated with a stunning array of florals. Jenna and Matt are the epitome of a perfect match and BKB was lucky to capture their joyous day. There may have been rain, but there was even more infectious energy and love.
