A Classic Cape Cod Summer Wedding
BKB had the honor of capturing Rachel and Jake’s welcome party and wedding this past July in Harwich Port, MA, a Cape Cod town. The location was not only stunning, making for breathtaking photos, but is also one that is special to the bride. Rachel spent summers there as a child, and when describing the Cape, her father said “when you cross the bridge, time slows down” and that it is just their place. These wonderful words encapsulate the feelings of love, joy, and peace that filled the weekend.
Brittany first got to shoot the welcome party on July 26th at Mad Minnow Bar & Kitchen. She was able to capture a few fun details that the couple had included in this night, including Cape Cod chips (very fit for the occasion) as well as candies and customized matches. These are such fun personal touches that connect to both the couple and the sentimental nature of their venue. The night was a great start to the weekend and provided a glimpse into the wedding day to come.
Rachel and Jake put out customized “perfect match” matchboxes at their welcome party.
On the day, Brittany began by capturing more special details, including the couple’s wedding invitations, before heading over to snap photos of the bride getting ready and posing with her bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore lovely neutral colored dresses that complimented Rachel beautifully and made for stunning and sweet shots of the group. There is a genuine excitement for the day that has been captured in these images and a tangible chemistry between the fun bridal party.

Before walking down the aisle, Rachel and Jake posed for photos together and with their wedding parties and families. These memorable moments made for some great images between the couple and fun-loving group shots. The ceremony and reception took place at the Wychmere Beach Club. This was the perfect location as everything from the beach view to the florals made for timeless photos for Rachel and Jake to look back on.

The ceremony looked out over the beach, making for both beautiful and touching shots as Rachel walked down the aisle and throughout. Following the ceremony was the reception, but this was not before Brittany made sure to shoot the decor and florals in the reception area. These small touches always make for great pictures to look back on because they capture the small details that make each couple’s day uniquely theirs. The pink and white florals really take your breath away and were perfect for this Cape Cod summer wedding.

After listening to speeches and doing a traditional first dance, Rachel, Jake, and their guests danced the night away in celebration of the newlyweds. This included doing the Hora, a traditional dance performed at Jewish weddings and an incredibly fun moment during the night. It was a wonderful weekend all around. We loved getting to capture this wedding and wish Rachel and Jake all the best in their future together. Cheers to the happy couple!
